The squash casserole and fried green tomatoes were probably the stars in my opinion, excellent breading on the tomatoes, especially mind boggling for a buffet. Mashed potatoes, fried okra, meatloaf, yams, green beans, fried chicken, mac and cheese, all solid. Service was good, considering they were pretty busy. If I 'm ever in the area again, I 'll be back here.
The food was good the the people that work there with niceFood: 5/5
No…just no…we pulled in with a little over a hour before closing. Two cars in parking lot and two parties in the restaurant. With all the reviews you’d think it would have been busy. The sweet tea was good if you like it super sweet (which I do) and the service was great. People were super friendly. HOWEVER, the food while hot, was DISGUSTING. The Mac n cheese was yellow colored noodles with water there was ZERO cheese flavor/taste in fact you could see some of the powder cheese mix where it wasn’t stirred properly but they added WAAAAAAY too much water. So if you like water yellow noodles, this is your place. The mashed potatoes were instant and the gravy they were using you had to scoop it out of some frozen store bought salisbury steak. I think the okra and roll was the best part from the buffet. Nothing tasted like fresh baked/cooked all tasted as if it was purchased from Walmart and heated up/cooked. I guess it’s home cooking because probably 50% of American households eat this in their homes. It was a one and done for us. It was also weird to enter right into the buffet area. So the door and buffet were right next to each other. I found that to be kinda gross…(personal preference)
I love this location and the food is the best home cooking you can get besides your grandma'sFood: 5/5
