I've been to multiple Gaylords and this one was not my favorite by design. The restaurant with the wings was great and the drinks were on point. The staff was very nice and accommodating.Walkability: The lobby and entrance from the parking lot is too far. My coworker had to assist more than one person who had a hard time walking
Beautiful resort with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Our queen room was spacious for two people and very clean. Pool area was nice but you needed to find the right elevator bank to get there. The atrium was amazing but loud during the day. I was easily able to take a morning walk on the Harbour with easy access to and from the water front walkway. If car parking, add to you room as you get discounted per day parking. Garage was both under cover and lot based.Everything you need is in within walking distance including a CVS for last minute forgotten items. DC was a 20 minute Uber ride and there were several cars available at most times.Rooms: Comfortable, clean, plenty of plugs and charging stations. In room mini refrigerator and safe. Plenty of towels and supplies including hair dryer and basic coffee maker.Safety: Extremely safe and well litWalkability: Easy walk the grounds, tourist area, the Skywheel and plenty of off site restaurantsFood drinks: Plenty of options for meals from Starbucks and quick bites to Steak House
We are here for BIG Convention. Beautiful hotel and area with lots of great choices of food within walking distance. Our room was large with a great shower. Great views. Friendly staff was everywhere and plenty of bar areas, coffee area and inside shopping stores.Rooms: Large rooms with a great view.Walkability: Many eateries, shopping, a CVS pharmacy all in walking distance.
Very disappointed in the room. For $327 I expected a better accommodation. I have had better rooms for under $100. No microwave, curtains don't close (if I can see the people across from me, they can see in my room). Drawers stuck.I can find better sheers in Goodwill. Some lights don't work.Room service was great, the view wonderful, the bed is great quality, the rest subpar at best. You can do better Gaylord, I am glad that I wasn't paying the bill for this. Rooms are just as important as your amenities. I hope that if I come back you will heed this review and upgrade your rooms. Most of your staff are fantastic and helpful, a few need to get off their phones.
The hotel is physically stunning, beautifully appointed. The staff is uniformly professional and friendly. The food (we 'll revisit in a second) was delicious and creative. However a few negative notes:$60/day valet parking in the middle of Maryland, felt borderline abusive as parking charges go. I self parked and still left with a $100 charge after 3 days. I live in Brooklyn, New York where space is much more at a premium and pay less to park. Crazy.Very few food options. The ones they do have are similarly insanely expensive. My suggestion is to leave the hotel and go out nearby where there are many options that will cost more than they should, but less than half what the hotel expects you to pay.We were told we 'd have a harbor view which is technically what they gave me, from juuust the right angle looking out the window you could, in fact, see a sliver of the harbor. View was a bit of an oversell though, more like can just make it out .With all this said, we enjoyed our stay. The building is an architectural marvel and everything was very pleasant. Just be prepared for all the extra charges.Nearby activities: You 're next to a big casino. Also an easy drive into Washington DC and Alexandria Virginia.
