Great place small portions of food was the only things we didn't like
The food was delicious. Excellent service and very good atmosphere. I really liked the live music and our waitress did a very nice dance. It was a very special dinner just for our last night on the Big Island.
Celebrating my friend's birthday--great fresh fish, calamari steaks, lilikoi lemondrop
I was staying in Pahoa for two weeks and this place was recommended as a local hangout with live music. I went my first night and ordered a large salad, nothing special. I mainly went because the passion fruit cheesecake with Oreo crust sounded delicious. Come to find out they 're out that night, but fine, I 'd just go back another day. I show up Friday and ask the hostess if I can get a slice to go. Some kid comes over, We don 't offer the cheesecake to go. OK ... and if I sit at a table and then ask for a box? I 'm half kidding, in a what 's the difference kind of way (because there isn 't one). He explains they have live music that night and don 't want to run out. I 'm a PAYING customer and I got there first, literally what difference does it make? So I say fine, I 'll stay for a drink and just eat dessert at a table, since that 's the only way you 're allowed to eat their food. You can sit at the bar aka you can drink but not eat. The interaction was bizarre and, quite frankly, rude, so I just left. Clearly the place only wants to cater to locals and has no qualms about showing visitors the door (also evident in other low-star reviews). Also, how about maybe learning to keep up with supply and demand for a popular product so you 're not cherry-picking who gets to eat it? Weird experience. I 'd recommend somewhere friendlier. So much for that aloha spirit.
