Wandering around late (about 11pm) on our first night in Palermo, we failed to find a place open on our list until we arrived here. At first sight, it seemed unpromising: loud music was pounding outside, but once inside things were nicer (and quieter); the staff were friendly and informal; the food good and great value. We came away very happy with the experience: a starter, a pasta course, an excellent pizza, and a fine bottle of local organic wine for two. All this came to EUR54. That included a free warm up plate of pizza slices, a pair of micro calzones and some chips (UK crisps). Much better than either of us (a pair of SF bay based foodies) expected on first impression.
I liked it as a local so much that I chose it to celebrate with some friends the birthday of my girlfriend. The day before I went to book the table since we were a decent number, sincerely I was not having any problems on bringing the cake purchased in pastry is a cake they have not and have not made me any problem. During the evening, however, the guys who are at the bar, who cut it off, considered it opportune to serve us tiny slices and cut a correspondent about 3/4 of cake for them and their staff so then justified . As soon as I realized at the end of the night, I did the necessary remonstrations and apologized, saying that they didn't know how much I wanted to take away and so he cut a little bit for his colleague. I mean. What right do you get my cake? If I want to offer it to you, you can't take it because I paid that cake. In legal terms it's called theft! Moral? They have lost at least 20 clients and related potential clients for each of the 20. A very little place and of these times seriousness makes the difference, I will never come back.
