If a local hadn’t told us about it, we never would’ve found it. Quite a secret hidden gem! The bar itself is gorgeous and looks very old school. The service is exceptional. We told them it was our first visit and we received complimentary frozen side car drinks (amazing! . We would come back again. Heard their food is great also.
Best kept secret in Palm springs. Drinks are top notch and the special was so good! It's meatloaf on Sunday. You would never know from the appearance outside what a gem Paul's bar is.
This restaurant is located in a less desirable part of the city, and some might even consider it a bit rough around the edges. We were initially hesitant, but the moment we stepped through the door, we were transported to an entirely different atmosphere! They don't take reservations, operating on a first-come, first-served basis, and it’s always bustling with activity. The drinks are impressive—you'll definitely feel their effects after just two. It's refreshing to find a place that doesn't skimp on the alcohol. The appetizers were excellent, and the menu looked fantastic! There’s never an empty table, and our host, Paul, was delightful and entertaining!
One of the most talked-about and popular "speakeasy" bars in Palm Springs! Their classic cocktails are fantastic, and their menu offers delicious choices (I always go for the calamari). Paul, the owner, greets you at the door with a warm smile and is incredibly friendly. If you have to wait a few minutes, he'll even offer to get you a drink. While the exterior of the bar is unassuming, the interior is vintage and beautiful, adorned with great decor, and the bartenders, dressed in stylish bow ties, are friendly and helpful. Due to its popularity, the bar tends to be bustling with both locals and visitors. They don't take reservations, so be prepared for a wait upon arrival, but it’s absolutely worth it! To avoid the crowd, we usually arrive at 3:45 PM and wait for them to open at 4 PM. If you go later, Paul will often give you a good estimate for the wait time, which usually ranges from 30 minutes to an hour. Make sure to experience Paul Bar; you won’t regret it!
This restaurant boasts a fantastic location in a strip mall. The atmosphere is cozy, with tables close together, making it easy to engage with other diners. The food is excellent—both the meatball and short rib sandwiches were delicious. Everything that came to our table looked and smelled amazing. The drinks are expertly crafted and distinctive; the frozen Sidecar was particularly delightful. I will definitely return when I’m in Palm Springs.
