I was very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. I think they were understaffed, bc I only saw one waitress, who had quite a few tables. It took about 20 min for someone to take our drink order. There were only 2 of us, and we only got one drink. Then it took about another 10 min for them to bring the forgotten drink, which was just a water. It took about 35 min for us to get our food, and they got the order wrong. However, when it came for the check, that was promptly given. The acting manager did apologize, so I understand. But you would think that during a 3 day weekend, you would have more than one person working.
Nope! Everything about this experience was a train wreck. From the reservation that was made on open table for a nice dinner on New Year's Eve. We were running a few minutes late so called to see if that would be a problem, “no problemâ€. When we arrived The Kitchen Restaurant was closed, I guess we have a problem. We ended up asking the person at the bar for help and we're sent to the front desk and then were told to ask the person at the bar. We we're asked if we booked on open table and we said we had. A shake of the front desk managers head and the comment we don't use open table anymore did not help set the mood. So “The Kitchen Restaurant ended up being the bar lobby seating area. It took them quite a while to figure it out on their end what to even do. Ok we can be troopers about this, it's New Year's Eve. Our place settings consisted of a plate of flatware, cocktail napkins and plastic drink glasses. The basic menu we order from wasn't even correct. The seared salmon with the cauliflower purée and radish salad came out with a poor attempt at Risotto under a mediocre salmon entree. The burger was the same. A bacon burger that came without cheese, not what we ordered. The tacos saved the hangry guest from a complete meltdown. The server/bartender tried her best and comped us an order of tacos. Complete confusion would describe this experience at best. The atmosphere was dreary at best and the place was dead. A far fall from the prior Hard Rock Hotel this place used to be. This place needs a major overhaul if it intends to make it. Until then I would advise somewhere else (at least for dinner). I hope the hotel functions better than The Kitchen.
Have eaten twice in the evening at the Kitchen in the Zoso Hotel, we were the ONLY one's there each night. I can see why now. I have had better food at McDonalds. Had their Ribeye steak potatoes, potatoes were great, the steak was THIN, over cooked, asked for medium well, got WELL done, looked like and tasted like SHOE LEATHER . The night staff has nothing good to say about the night Chef. The day Chef great.
It's actually inside the new Hotel Zoso. It's a modern, upscale restaurant. Anyway, we just ordered appetizers. The Mezzi Platter...humus with flat bread and olives and other dips/cheese. It was delicious. And our server, Amy, was a total delight. She's beautiful inside out and made our dining experience fun and worth the visit. Totally will stay here again just to visit Amy.
