Our experience of eating in this long serving facility in Manawatu is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful, one of the most memorable, by far one of the best trips as a family we have ever had. Friendly, professional, simply incredible hosts made way for some of the most beautiful meals we have eaten. Charismatic dedicated owner Danny Yeung, employees are the epitome of what your customers are about. Every minute of our time loved as soon as we got in. sharing stories, laughing to feel welcome is what Danny is doing best to his team, they are miles in front of this department compared to all the other restaurants we have visited in Palmerston North over the last 4 years of life. We congratulate Danny on her commitment to the tireless work they have provided to many locals, to the visitors of others in the last 37 years of business in the region. The food in this restaurant was an experience both in hospitality and traditional family authenticity. From easy to cheerful welcome to entertaining attention, the service was notch. Not in a silver service, but in a way that reminded me of old world charm. I ordered duck and head and both came in good time and I was impressed by the taste and freshness of each dish. There was nothing lightning, but the sauces weren't ready and the servings were liberal. I made the food feel satisfied and not overwhelmed by any greasy shine. When I left, I got some rose chocolates that really was a surprise. There's something I like about attention to detail. I felt like an esteemed guest, although this was the one and only time I've died here. This is certainly worth a spin.

I am 19 now and I remember singing karaoke with my sister, mother and father when I was very small. Now I see Danny when I drink in town, and he's still as alive, bubbly, entertaining and appealing as ever. The dishes and drinks are cheap, and the karaoke is the best and makes a good laugh (especially in Thurs, Fri and Sat nights)!

Have been going to the China Inn for over 30 years ago from a teen still a major favorite. Meals are what you want can order the small quick banquet or go the full meal deal everything fresh and plentiful delicious! China Inn is a place of fun and smiles, unrelenting service and amazing hospitality. Great Atmosphere when its just the two of us, with a group and with the whole family when in town . Thankyou for making kids, birthdays and everyone feel amazingly welcome. Love this place Danny and staff you're brilliant! ............Not many restaurants can top what you do.....

Well from the time we entered until we left. We were greeted by our hosts shown to our table with courtesy and hilarious introduction to the menu. Very entertaining if you love to sing and even if you can't. A laugh a minute. Didn't take long to bring out our food. We had the banquet for two which consisted of 5 courses. Couldn't eat it all. Brought the rest home. Lovely evening had by all. My husband was presented with a birthday cake and a box of chocolates because it was his 65th birthday. Wonderful evening.
