Hanamizuki Japanese - Palmerston North

Very disappointing. The quality and taste of food do not justify the exorbitant prices charged. I shd sizzling prawns (19$ 6 pieces sizzling in oil with Beans sprouts and their special sauce which was basically Mayo. Avoid. Also had tuna sashimi which was son special 22$. 3 pieces. However very expensive for quantity. But was fresh. Lastly had teriyaki chicken. Plz avoid at all costs. Small serving even though it was their large dish and the sauce tasted like right out of supermarket bottle. (30$ . Avoid plz 10$ for a glass of Pinot .. Total bill 81$. Which is what you would pay for fine dining and this is nothing like that. Just another ordinary restaurant. Typical Nz stuff. Ripoff There r better Japanese restaurants like Haru. Etc..

Hands down my all time favorite Japanese restaurant, was a regular for the last 1O plus years, it never disappointed the food is fantastic, great advocates the sizzling prawns are an outstanding dish with the famous secret sauce. Relaxed eating of an audience lover. Will come again and again when I visit my friends love our collection the delicious food. I wish we could take this restaurant to the bay. 10/10 to Patrick the owner.

Our food took just over an hour to get to us and it was just sushi ? We weren’t warned that there may be a wait which was a little bit frustrating as we had somewhere to be. The sushi was good and good portion size.

Food was good, service was good in telling us that they are short staff as there is a bit of a wait for food, this would have been nice to know when we called, as it was a same day booking also we ordered the children food 1st and they come out last a hour and a bit later, would have been good if that was the 1st thing they made as we asked for the children food 1st.
