Chef Zhao Kitchen - Palo Alto

Really great neighborhood Chinese cafe. Authentic Shanghainese Essen. Very close to what I tasted in Shanghai.

I recommend trying the XLB, Shanghai rice cake, and salt and pepper calamari. All of them are quite tasty, but the portions of ingredients felt a bit light. I expected more Napa cabbage and pork in the rice cake. Overall, the food is good, and the value is reasonable.

They have traditional dishes in Shanghai. The steamed rolls and roasted rolls are just fine. The fried rolls were not crispy and too thick. The service was fast and the price was reasonable.

Overall, the food was good and the service was quick. The Shanghai cuisine is very authentic, and I highly recommend the ??? and ????. The wontons were satisfactory. However, they did forget one dish when packing up the unfinished food for us, so I’m taking away one star.

We got beef and broccoli, beef chow main and pork potstickers.. it was delicious! My son and I were very impressed. Definitely recommend.
