Koma Sushi - Palo Alto

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but my favorites are the Niko Udon and the Plum Ume Maki.

The Niku Udon was disappointing. The noodles were all stuck together and soggy by the time it was served. The beef was more like chunks rather than thinly sliced.

Sushi was not fresh and there was no jalapeno sauce ad advertised. You should have seen the 6 pieces of yellow tail that I was charged $42 for. Never again.

I have been a long-time fan of Koma at their Menlo Park location, but the Lytton location (Kanpai) did not meet my expectations at all. Perhaps it was just an off day, but I was served a particularly unappetizing batch of sushi rolls, including tamago with a piece of egg shell. I was very disappointed. Even the miso soup was excessively salty. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but in this case, they deserved it.

Good sushi. Our faves are the ume, avacado, and wagyu rolls.
