We enjoyed sitting outside for some cervezas and Cuban app-tostones, chicharrón and beans rice. Our server was friendly!
This place is very small , but offers good food and a friendly welcome and great service ! Don't expect a Michelin-star menu , but rather good tasty homemade-style food .
I have been eating at Rincon Habanero for years. It is a little tiny, hole in the wall place perfect for 2, 3 or 4 people. I wouldn't recommend more as the place is tiny. The Cuban owner is on premises nearly every day. Food is authentic, delicious, and there is plenty.
So we had high hopes for this place upon walking in: the decor was that of an established neighborhood Cuban joint with lots of old photos and good music. The lady serving us was very nice and attentive. The food, however was a bit of a let down... we had pernil and oxtail with rice and black beans, plátanos, yucca and tried their moros y Cristianos. The pernil was ok, a little dry and the portion was small and the moros y cristianos tasted like they were leftovers... dry and a little hard. The oxtail was pretty good but the beans again tasted a bit old. We finished off with coffee and the milk in the cortado was bad. The waitress was very apologetic and nice; I chalked that up to just an honest mistake, but is likely an indicator of pretty slow business. All in all, not terrible, because the service was good and the ambience charming, but the cooking definitely needs some serious remediation... I’ll give it a very shaky “C-“
