Alona Vida Beach Resort - Panglao

We found Alona Vida just by chance so we had no previous experience, but what we found was a nice, neat little retreat! The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the restaraunt was a good place to hang out. Although the menu was limited, the food was very good! Oh, and the beach only a few steps away was a big bonus!! Very nice experience!

We were looking for a nice place where we could eat while having the sand on our feet and this was perfect! The staff are very nice and accommodating. They know how to serve wine which was important for our french guests. Prices are reasonable because the food quality is always good. The band at night was also great. Overall a great jsland experience here!

Exactly what you would hope for at the price- big, clean and comfy rooms, (generally) helpful staff, quiet enough given the relatively lively area. Everything quietens up by 11 anyway. The house band is incredible in the bar/restaurant and the food is high quality, although a little expensive compared to their neighbours (but worth it on balance). Only drawback was the relatively poor service we got when the aircon stopped working. Got it fixed eventually, but got the impression the staff weren’t really bothered. But got there in the end! Overall a highly recommended experience!

Positive: Location is good and housekeeping staff are professional. Beach front. Good enough accommodation. Generous in providing service and replenishment. Rooms are value for money! Negative: Our whole family SEVERELY got sick and the cause may have been from consuming drinks juices and/or water with ice) they served us. I also noticed that the kitchen staff did not observe proper hygiene practices in handling our food and beverages. Maybe Management should check if their water and ice supply are contaminated, or at least improve their hygiene safety protocols in the kitchen/bar area. Sad to say we were even hospitalized. I suggest just buying bottled water from convenience store nearby so you don’t risk of being infected. Did not enjoy the stay because we got sick. :

Fantastic place to stay! While the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, you don't come to Bohol to spend all your time indoors. It's truly one of the best experiences I've had. I would highly recommend it!
