We had no idea what we wanted to eat or where to eat one evening in Paris and stumbled across Cap99. The set menu looked good value so we went for it. I was really pleased with our choice. Two courses for €16 (€14 at lunch) was a fair price. I had the cod fritters and then jerk chicken. The food was fantastic and decent portions. The manager is really friendly and he spoke good English too, which helped us find out what was in the delicious sauces. There are so many restaurants to choose from in the area but this is something a bit different.
Un accueil chaleureux et des plats élaborés et délicieux qui ne sont pas facilement retrouvables ailleurs à Paris.
Accueil extraordinaire du patron Eric qui vous fait goûter gratuitement des cocktails maison, excellent repas
We had a lunch there last week-end and what a disappointement ! I always had very good experiences in African restaurant all over Paris BUT this is the exception to the rule...Starter ("exotic salad") was supposedly with rice, pineapples, prawns and salad : there was barely any rice, green salad was not fresh at all, I managed to find 2 tiny pieces of pineapple but there was plenty of prawns (frozen though, not fresh ones); Main Course (Chicken "Gop") was a disaster as the meat was either dry or plain fat, rice was ok and "bananes plantains" were excellent (the ONLY tasty thing). OK, let's be honest, the street where the restaurant stands (Rue du Pot de Fer) is definitely a touristic one but we had meals in others restaurants on the same street which were much better...
