The pasta dishes we ordered were pretty ordinary, the wine pretty dire and the place loud. However we didn't want to be disruptive nor offensive so we stayed and ate part of our main course before departing. Within a few hours several of our party started vomiting and remained ill for several hours during the long and arduous journey back to London. Not an experience any of us would want to repeat ever!!!!
This restaurant is one reason we return to Paris every year. The staff (Laurent, Eric and Herbert) are so welcoming and friendly - each welcomes you with a smile as though you are the most important customer in the restaurant! It is a neighborhood place and the customers are obviously comfortable returning night after night. The food is exceptional - the selections are creative, flavorful and delicious! While the portions are "normal" for most people, Laurent noticed some portions were too large for us and suggested with order smaller portions - what a life saver! We enjoyed the following starters: calamari, salmon and burrata, vegetable terrine. Each was great! For our mains we had bolognase, risotto with truffles, pasta with foie gras (fabulous!), osso bucco, seabass and the fish specials. The sides (mushrooms with the fish) were incredible! Desserts are amazing - sabayon is unbelievable and the panna cotta is out of this world. (We ate there five or six times - we did not eat all this in one visit.) Eric is great about helping with wines and aperitifs - Herbert is great about keeping everything organized and served. In all the times we have been to Conti we have never felt rushed or ignored - this is our special place and we are so glad we found it!
Excellent for business lunch or dinner. Fine tastes, good caissons, meat or fish, good accompanying wines.
Super warm welcome in a small place with the Italian touch. Would fit both a romantic dinner or like for me that day a business lunch. Why not great, because I had the pasta with morels and the pasta was sticky so not allowing to mix well with the morels which were quite tasteless.Fortunately, the next dish was the Riz de veau and was done to perfection and the Brunello Di Montalcino was the right pairing, so a great experience. The service was perfect providing the appropriate level of attention.I’ll go back and try the pasta again…
My wife, mother and law and I landed up having dinner at this restaurant purely by chance. Under normal circumstances I would recommend you book to ensure you get a table, we however took a chance and managed to secure the last table in the restaurant. The restaurant itself is cost, has a beautiful chandelier handing over the main dining room, and a simple but beautiful bar In the main dining area. The waitrons are friendly, attentive and know their wine. We were brought some delicious cured meats, as well as a little tomato tart whilst perusing the menu. We all chose something different, I went with the osso bucco with tomato and polenta, whilst my wife and her mom opted for some St Jacques scallops and a delicious pasta. All 3 of our meals were delicious, well portioned and had a great depth of flavor. Not knowing the wines the waitron very kindly assisted us in our choice and presented 2 very reasonably priced, but delicious wines. For desert the 3 of us shared a clementine and meringue dessert along with an almond and pear sabayon which was out of this world. I would return for the sabayon alone!
