Fantastic food and service by the very knowledgeable and passionate head of house who made the whole experience complete. Definitely a great place for a special occasion or if you want to experience something different. Quality all round was superb and can highly recommend.
The food tastes really great, the chef in wonderful and the owner takes time to explain you everything you want to know about his products and recipes. A very good and unique restaurant, serving wonderful pork meat!
My wife and I ate here in April, 2017. The trilogy of pork dish was an absolute delight. It comprised of black pudding ( the best I've ever tasted ), pork cheeks in a succulent sauce and porchetta. It came with cream of mash potatoes and glazed vegetables. The starters and desserts were also of high quality. The restaurant itself has an excellent ambience, efficiently managed by Lydi - a delightful and welcoming host. We shall certainly visit here again on our next trip to Paris...
What was supposed to be a quick middle-of-the -week lunch with a few local friends turned into meal I'll remember for a long time, thanks to the great food and great service we received at the Cochon Gaulois. The restaurant is bright, with lots of natural light, spotlessly clean, and overall pleasant and cosy. It's a bright contemporary style, so maybe couples looking for a romantic experience for dinner will be looking for something cosier.. The wine menu is extensive and has something for all budgets. The food is simply stunning. There are cheaper options in the 18th arrondissement, but here the amount of preparation, hand-work and attention that goes into each dish makes the prices feel rather cheap! The pork burger was easily one of the most original burgers I've had in years and yet came together so seamlessly it's one of those burgers you could have for lunch several times a week. Instant classic. The owner is a sweetheart, and his passion for his job is inspiring. My three guests and I walk out with a grin on our face, and two days later we were still talking about our experience at the Cochon, which is the greatest praise I can give to a restaurant.
We were looking for somewhere to eat in Montmartre and stopped to look at the menu. The owner, Max, was outside and started talking to us about his restaurant. He is a Corsican, passionate about the food he serves. It specialises in pork but there was a fish dish and a chicken dish on the menu as well. It was a quiet night and Max sat with us and talked us through the menu, telling us about where the ingredients were from and how the sauces were prepared. He is very charismatic and the food lived up to the spiel he was giving. The food was delicious and the charcuterie as a starter was awesome. If you like pork, this is a place to visit.
