A small Fusion restaurant tucked away in the 1st, the restaurant decorated with postcards is totally understated in appearance. Not particularly charming, the ambiance lacks an attractive aura. However, the cuisine is quite good and carefully prepared. For a French restaurant, it was a bit surprising that for wines by the glass, there were two choices: white or red. Surely, we are in France! It was reasonably priced but really there is nothing exceptional here.
Had lunch here today with a few customers who held this as “Paris the best secret”. Maybe they're right. Tiny traditional bistro serves French food with a Japanese spin. They offer semi-large main courses so you can taste two different dishes. The Turbot Carpaccio-Starter was from this world and the extensive wine list was at a reasonable price. Beautiful people and would definitely return
A local shopkeeper recommended this restaurant for lunch, and we were not disappointed. It is small, the tables are too close together, and the service was slow, but the food more than made up for it as we were under no time pressure. We chose the daily menu, both starting with crab cakes and then braised ox cheek stew with carrots. The crab cakes were good without being exceptional, and the ox cheek stew was a star turn! I can still taste that rich, winey sauce a week later! Both desserts were also excellent chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream for me, nougat glacé for my wife. The house wines were O.K. Petit Chablis and Côtes du Rhône, and we finished with coffee. Euro 106 for two, which was perhaps a little on the high side.
We were very lucky to get a table yesterday evening without having booked, and had a fabulous dinner. Scallops followed by langoustine were beautifully fresh, expertly cooked and delicately flavoured. The main courses on the à la carte menu can be ordered as half portions which was perfect. Many of the diners looked to be of Japanese origin which speaks for itself. Service was attentive and charming. Yes as other reviews have said this is a treat restaurant but who doesn 't need a treat on a Friday night!
