L'Escale - Paris

This place was beautiful, I sat only for a fast hot chocolate and was very surprised how small, efficient and friendly the caffe was. everyone knew it was fun.

You won't find a lot of tourists here. They are all around the corner on the main street. Basic, classic cooking. They are proud of their wine and justly so. It is small, cozy and a perfect lunch spot after shopping on the main street...of Ile St. Louis. I once spent a delicious hour there with some wine and just listened to the Parisians around me, while my wife and her daughter were shopping.

L'Escale is located on Ile Saint Louis at the corner of rue des Deux Ponts and quay d'Orleans. It overlooks the river and with full length south facing windows is nice and bright. I like it for a coffee when I stay on the island...and is my next choice after the nearby Louis IX when it is closed on Wednesdays.

Petit café très bien situé sur l'ile st Louis. Clientèle du quartier le matin et touristes le reste de la journée. On peut y déjeuner. Ferme vers 20h
