It is a simple, average restaurant with nothing special (nor dishes quality, nor service, nor prices). You can find some standard quality, but keep in mind that within 300-400 meters there are far better options.
The café is always my first stop in the morning when traveling to Paris. Very good cafe and super croissant. Love it !
Friendly staffs and home prepared dishes (not industrial) Quality and the quantity in cafe 55 is rare to see in many other Paris restaurants where they serve the dishes prepared and supplied by food industries. Should not go late, otherwise lunch dishes get finished by 2pm. Highly recommended
My wife and I had lunch there, the bar looked new, inviting and not touristic at all. The staff is nice, although only one spoke english well enough to translate the daily menu: there are menus in english, though. Unfortunately the food is not worth the price at all. We had some gummy, tasteless vegetables lasagna, a dish of veal slices with a sauce that tasted like powder sauce and cauliflower au gratin, tasty but drowning in bechamel, and some mashed tuna with onion and avocado slices with a vinegard cream. Probably the worst lunch we had in Paris so far.
