He went in and greeted the man behind the bar in French. I was very kind and spoke the limited French I know. the man looked at me and made a face. I repeated myself and he laughed essentially out of the restaurant while he made faces of both of us. I had nothing but pleasant experiences in paris, so this is certainly not typical. Never go. they are rude and terrible.

I went in. no hallo, not friendly. asked if the kitchen was open and they stood there as if we were martians, so they don't understand us.

Being directionally challenged, I took a wrong turn while trying to follow the directions from the clerk at our hotel. My daughter and I stumbled upon this restaurant when in search of a bank to obtain some Euros. What a pleasant surprise. Tired from flying...all night, we must have looked like an advertisement for tourists. The kind staff took great care of us and everything was amazing. Great food, great service, and a truly kind welcome. I would go back again and recommend it to others.

Place is packed at lunch with locals. This is a great sign. Old style cafe. Affordable and tasty menu. Friendly folks. Gets very busy at lunch. English spoken if needed. :
