Mary B's Diner - Parkersburg

Two of us went on Sunday morning. It wasn’t too busy but we were stuck in the very back of the building in what looked like a private party space while walking by at least a dozen empty booths and tables. Then we went to the buffet. All the sausage was red in the middle, both the links and the patty’s. As for the rest of the buffet, there wasn’t enough food on it for all the customers there. Others setting around us agreed to how terrible the food was. The only real positive point was the wait staff was very friendly and did a great job keeping our drinks topped off and we could tell they felt bad about the quality of the food. We definitely will not be back and really don’t recommend the buffet to anyone. Hopefully their menu items are much better.

The food was average at best. We recently moved to the area and were craving some good burgers. We decided to try this restaurant, but the wait for our food was unbearable. Many other customers were also complaining about the wait and the quality of their meals. When our food finally arrived after 30 minutes or more, the onion rings were extremely greasy. I asked for fries instead, which were decent. The buns on our burgers were rock hard, prompting my daughter to eat her patty without the bun. I took a couple of bites before giving up on trying to chew through the tough bun. The restaurant did give us a discount on our meal, but unfortunately, we will not be returning. Our first experience at this restaurant was not a good one, and first impressions are important.

Warning the sweet tea is super sweet, as sweet as mcdonalds. The hot Italian roll comes out with a grease soaked bottom bun. The fries are really good!!! Nice atmosphere.
