Feedback gevenFirst visit and hospitality was very good. Starters of Antipasti inc Parma Ham, Gorgonzola, Fritta etc were tasty. My main of Pig Cheek and Polenta was very bland and lacked depth of flavour. Red wine was ok, but not great.
After a longs day drive we couldn’t be bothered going out to find a restaurant in Parma so we settled in to eat at the hotels in house. Edith was our waitress, she was excellent. Attentive enough but not so much she imposed. When my partner was unhappy with her under done meat it wasn’t a drama, as it often is in a French restaurant. It was returned appropriately cooked a few minutes later. All our meals were very good, typical Italian fare. But we were most impressed with the glass of Prosseco wine and by the Tiramisu and panna cota. If you are staying at this hotel check out the restaurant. We weren’t disappointed.
1st the good, excellent food, wine and atmosphere Tables not too close together Now the bad 3 staff on tonight 2 females were good, attentive and polite.... however the male waiter gave us attitude the whole night as though we were interrupting his night No explanations of the dishes (my friends are obviously not Italian), had to ask for pepper then salt then oil and vinegar, no offer of parmessan cheese, wine not refilled and napkins not spread on lap. In a busy restaurant maybe forgive some of these issues but this was not busy (Mon 31st Oct)
Had a selection of all Emilia can offer, from cappelletti in brood to parma ham to cheese. And like for the hotel, great courtesy from the staff.
