Feedback gevenThe best place to get authentic Chinese food in parramatta. Possibly the only north east Chinese restaurant in Sydney. There's not many. Can highly recommend the stewed pig tails, cold glass noodles with a pork reduction sauce and the special pork and cucumber salad. Do yourself a favour and eat here. Especially tried the soup or stews to share when the weather is not warm. That region's cuisine is influence by its long harsh winters! The staff have limited English abilities, so don't expect the service to be exceptional, but it adds to the charm!
We dined here because of the number of positive reviews, excluding the fact that most reviews recommended the amazing food disregarding the bad service. We were expecting that exactly. However what we got was different. It was horrendous service, almost embarrassing if you ask me. It makes you really dislike the entire Chinese race, which is a shame. The food was terrible, absolutely terrible. Noodles with chicken were dry and tasteless. The chicken and cashews were drenched with oyster sauce that gave it a bad smell and overwhelmingly odd flavour that was not pleasant, and the combination fried rice seemed sticky and unclean. Atmosphere was off. Small dirty place. And to make matters worse, the address listed on zomato and other sites is wrong - so trying to find this disgrace of a restaurant is frustrating on its own. Do not recommend, I don't say this often but McDonalds is a better cheaper tastier more relaxing option.
H O N G ☆ F U This place was recommended to me by my dear friend who said “we need to make a reservation”. I was like.. for Chinese in Parramatta? She was right. This place gets packed out! Famous for their boiled pork (where they hand you gloves to eat the meat with!), at decent prices, I cant recommend this place enough. So try their homemade dumplings and noodle dishes. ✌@foodiesguidetosydney
The boiled pork bones you eat with a glove are just delicious, and so moorish. A perfect sharing dish. The handmade noodles full of saucy flavour. The potato salad is a little oily though. Its on the edge of the CBD but worth a visit - take some friends and get a few dishes to share.
Came here accompanied by friends from Northern China who have frequently dined here. Our confidence level is high. When we arrived, there was no greeting. Asked the waiter for table of 5. He looked around and went straight into the kitchen. There was a couple sitting in table for 8 and there was another table of 8 marked as reserved. To cut the story short they gave us the reserved table after making us promise we will leave in one hour. Offer accepted. We ordered 5 dishes, all above average. The dishes came out quicker than us finishing the food. Very impressed. In the order of Yumminess. 1. Deep fried crispy pork sweet and sour. Unlike the Vietnamese or other Chinese pork chop, this one is devine. The crunchiness of the pork mixed with the medium level sweet and sour sauce garnished with sliced carrot and veggies. This dish came out fourth but was the first one we finished. 2. Braised sirloin with chili sauce in hot pot The meet is tender, the tangy spicy hot chili soup is not for everyone but definitely get my vote. The bok choy and rice cake makes it really really special. 3. Glass noodle & shredded pork with sauce. Don't be fooled by simple look, the glass noodle and the sauce are amazingly tasty. IMHO this is the holy grail of simple Chinese dish. I can't wait to try making this at home. The dish is garnished with sliced cucumber and the shredded pork which are just okay. Maybe we are all awed by the simple but tasty glass noodle and the sauce. 4. Boiled pork with Bone., We were given a glove so that our hands are not dirty. The dish is nice but not much meat. I saw some customer ordered two of this dish. This represent how popular this dish is. When they finish their meal the remaining bones look like a miniature of dinosaur's bone in the museum scattered all over the plate. 5.Deep fried eggplant and potato and capsicum The title describes it all. Simple but elegantly cooked. This is the first dish but we finish this last. Would highly recommend this restaurant but a word of caution don't come here during peak hour or you will be disappointed. It would have scored higher if not because of the off-putting services.
