Its our first time in This mall and Akimitsu. We actually chose Ramen Nagi but discovered to our delight that we can cross order in Akimitsu too. Perfect! First off , notice that their prices were on the high side. 2nd son and father-in-law ordered tempura. 2nd son prefers Tenya's tempura better than Akimitsu's version . Sorry. Spicy Salmon Sushi : filling and flavorful. Thumbs up Ambiance : Resto is fairly new, clean and cosy. It gets to be a little cramp though when fully booked Service : Attentive and cheerful pigoutsundays.blogspot.com
I went here to claim my free 2 bowls of Ebi Tendon after winning a giveaway from loolooapp :) I was so happy that I had the chance to win something especially when it comes to food. It was nice to know that the restaurant we wanted to go to was associated with Ramen Nagi. That means we can order ramen here too :) I love the ambience of the place, simple but very welcoming. The staff were also very nice and accommodating. When the 2 free bowls came I didn't expect that there will be so much tempura on one bowl. The serving was a surprising amount. The Ebi tendon consisted of 4 Ebi tempura, 1 shrimp tempura, 1 okra tempura, 1 eggplant tempura and 1 sweet potato tempura. The bowl was very filling and satisfying. I was glad I got the chance to win this. The coating of the tempura was fine. It was damp when it came to the table but I liked the taste and texture. The tempura sauce was fine, not too sweet and not too salty. My only disappointment would be the rice. It wasn't Japanese rice, so not very sticky. I was expecting them to serve Japanese rice, unfortunately not. It tasted delicious, but nothing to be really happy about. Overall, I enjoyed my bowl of Ebi Tendon as it came with generous amounts of tempura, satisfying, tasty, and free. I also ordered some extra pages as I was dining with my family. We ordered their California Maki and Gyoza. The California Maki was okay. It had great texture, but just like the tendon, the taste is nothing to get upset about. It was good for the gyoza. It was nice and damp, but a bit oily below. It didn't really have a broth compared to other gyoza I've tried, but it still had good taste. I also like how they served it on a bed of sprouts. I may have won 2 bowls of Ebi Tendon, but I'm pretty sure I'll order it when I get back :)
