Scharfrichterhaus - Passau

The food was great, the service was great, the beer was great. Best Wienershnitzel on the trip! Loved the crème brûlée, too!

The Scharfrichterhaus is well known for its cultural events and wine specialties. Good food, service and an interesting place to visit.

Stopped in for a Thursday dinner and found a small but interesting menu. We chose the two specials: tender veal with a superb horseradish sauce and perfectly cooked veal liver in a sauce topped with fresh tomatoes and other veggies. Each under Perfect. The...restaurant is in an atmospheric building with two outdoor dining areas, one in the street and one an enclosed area one story up. We started out upstairs but moved to street-level when our drinks arrived and enjoyed the refreshing night air. The place is known for its live music but that was not happening on our night.

The menu isn’t huge but the food is amazing. I had a Schnitzel and Panna Cotta, both amazing. Limited hours so make sure to check opening times. Highly recommend.

The Schasfrichterhaus has a limited menu. However, the schnitzel is authentic and very good, especially with a beer or wine. The interior is a cozy Bavarian setting with benches against the wall and very comfortable chairs on the other side of the table and soft...jazz in the background. The service is excellent.
