L'alberata - PASTENA

Came here after visiting the caves. The food is great and it’s SO cheap. We had pasta with mushroom and lamb roast. Both to be recommended.

After visiting the cave of Pastena, best you can do is to have lunch at this place, Italian style, meaning first some antipasti, then a dish of pasta, maybe with fresh porcini, a delicious main course, and, if you are lucky, a home made tiramisu. You will be served by the friendly owners. And all this comes for less than 20EUR.

We had a preset family meal, but we would come back and order from the menu and dine again. We had a mixed plate of appetizers, all were very good. The pasta they served us was lasagna, but the special red sauce penne they made the kids was outstanding! We had a roasted meat, salad and potatoes. The potatoes came out of their garden that morning and were the best golden potatoes I have ever had. A solid 4.5. Very friendly family run place.

After visiting Pastena Caves we went to this quiet place located just a few hundred meters away. If you want to try easy and genuine food from Lazio region give this place a try. We got plenty of food for the 4 of us (2 kids) with just 35 €
