The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely; it hasn’t changed in years and has a spacious, old-fashioned, and cozy feel that I personally enjoy. I think my fondness for it might be tied to visiting with my grandmother when I was younger. However, if I were just visiting the area for the first time, I might feel a bit let down. If you do visit, make sure to check out their Epicurean shop—it’s excellent. The prices are very reasonable, and they offer the same food as the restaurant. My husband loves their American Chop Suey, which is only $5 for a medium container, half the price compared to other places, and it’s quite tasty too!
The food here is excellent, and the service is top-notch, with fantastic daily specials! Like any place, there can be a few minor issues from time to time, but overall, it’s a great experience! The Epicurian Shoppe is a lovely spot to browse for all sorts of take-home treats. I give it an A1 rating!
I usually give this place a five-star rating! While my recent visit was still enjoyable with excellent service, the prime rib I ordered rare came out more medium to medium-rare. It was still tasty, but it’s easier to cook meat more if a customer prefers it that way; once it’s overcooked, there's no going back. The side dishes were fantastic! Overall, this place is a reliable choice.
Very disappointed!! Ate there for the 1st time with wife and 2 boys.. my prime rib was ok, but the mashed potatoes that came with it was definately powdered potatoes froma box. My esparigus was extremely wilted and half had no sprout, it was just a stem.. My son ordered the chicken kebob, that was $19.99.. He got a 9 skewer with pieces of chicken and a few vegetables, on a bed of rice.. This was something that should be on a children's menu for $8.99.. Wife and I were not pleased at all, my wife keeps saying thank goodness they never asked how our meals were, they would have got an ear full....
I highly recommend having breakfast lunch or dinner at the Century House Restaurant in Peabody, Massachusetts, the atmosphere is lovely, the service is wonderful, waitresses, waiters are very friendly, when I went on 3/9/2024 for lunch I had the steak tips, and they were delicious, the steak tips were cooked perfect, for dessert I had the grape nut bread pudding which was very delicious.
