By far some of the best cheap Mexican food I have ever had, but there was nothing cheap about the quality of food or the service!! We were greeted right away with a friendly smile, and taken right to a table. Our server came over and was so friendly! Chips and fresh delicious salsa were dropped off to our table and our drinks arrived within the first 3 min of being there. The food came out and was very hot! I love when food comes out and is still hot from the kitchen. We could tell it was very fresh and the queso dip was a great sized portion! I will definitely come back if I come through Pelham again!!
We went on a Thursday evening around 6:30p and were greeted immediately. The chips were thicker than most other chips that I have been served at other Mexican restaurants, but the salsa tasted really nice. The happy hour house margarita had more sour mix than alcohol, but that is to be expected of happy hour drinks. I ordered the grilled salmon burrito. It was stuffed with vegetables (the salmon was separate) then topped with melted cheese and a red onion/pineapple salsa. The unique salsa on the salmon gives it a delayed, sweet/tart kick in every bite. The service was excellent (attentive and fast). For example, our food was brought to us within 10 minutes of ordering it. The decor was quite subtle and the restaurant was very clean. There were not many Mexican artifacts or decorations and the lights were a little too dim for my preference. Overall: The food and service was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting and the prices were reasonable.
Food was great large portions. Drink was medium but was huge. *Drink was kinda expensive Service was great.
Visited with my lady for dinner on Monday nights. It was not particularly busy, but it was a Monday... We started with some Patron Margaritas, and the complimentary chips and salsa. The Margaritas were great, and I thought the salsa was pretty good as well. My lady ordered the marinated pork dish (carnitas), and I ordered the chicken breast stuffed with shrimp and poblano strips. The portion sizes were large, and the food was pretty good. The carnitas appeared to be boston butt or a similar cut because there was a lot of fat. I really enjoyed the chicken and shrimp dish; it was quite spicy. The tab came to just over $55. There were a lot of other great looking dishes on the menu, so I expect to come back to try something else.
We wanted to try this because of the great Yelp reviews. It's actually in a former O'Charleys so there is a lot of room. Our server Miguel was very nice and made good recommendations. He was attentive and efficient too. We ordered the Shrimp Tacos and the Fajita Burritos. I am told the Shimp Tacos were awesome. More food than you can eat, but so good that you force yourself to eat it all! They looked very fresh and appetizing. The Fajita Burritos were awesome and something I hope our local restaurant will consider adding to the menu! The chips and cheese dip were also very good. Definitely a place to stop if you're in town.
