Feedback gevenOur experience at this restaurant was once again delightful. The staff and locals were welcoming, and the combination of great beer and food has made it one of our favorite pubs in the area. It is worth noting that this is a quiet time of year for pubs in this region, so it is advisable to check if they are serving food before making a visit.
We live nearby and decided to take a walk with our two dogs, planning to have lunch at the pub based on good feedback in the Visitors Book. However, upon arriving at the pub just after noon, we found out they didn't open until 2pm during the off season. Disappointed, we went to see the lighthouse at Scrumble Head and returned at 2:15pm. Unfortunately, we were informed that only the evening menu was available and they didn't serve lunch on weekdays. Disappointed, we left and do not plan on returning. We informed another group arriving about the lack of lunch service, causing them to leave as well. It seems like a missed opportunity for the pub in terms of revenue. It would be helpful for holiday cottages to inform guests about this policy. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Had a beautiful lunch here today, had the soup for starters and fish and chips for mains everything was very tasty and piping hot.
Fantastically kept local Welsh beers and delicious food. Warm and welcoming both to locals and holiday makers alike. The staff were fabulous chatty and informative of the local attractions. We were made to believe this was out longstanding local, although we were only there for the week. Hats off to Andrew out friendly barman who even came in on his day off to say goodbye. Can’t praise the place any more highly. Top notch!
Lovely food, friendly customers, great service. Hoping to holiday in Abercastle again and will certainly return. Jeannette and Hannah
