We came here somewhat accidentally. Our daughter has been raving about Tired Hands for some time now and we were in Ardmore looking for dinner so we decided to finally give it a try. She had recommended the burgers or tacos. Well the Brew Cafe menu has none of those. It's basically a small plate meat and cheese menu with a few panini options but we were NOT disappointed. The varieties of meats and cheeses were excellent. And the beer was very interesting and very good. I had a casked coconut IPA (and I am typically not a fruit flavored beer guy) that was really excellent. Our waitress was spectacular. She basically covered all the tables upstairs and probably put a few miles on her Fitbit while we were there but she was always there when we needed her and was very helpful in deciding what to have and what beer to try. So we believe our daughter probably hung out at the Fermentaria which, based on our experience at the Brew Cafe, we will have to go back and try in the (hopefully near) future.
These guys know GOOD Beer and they make it even better. It appears they got inspiration from the great farmhouse breweries in Belgium and then combined their knowledge of beer making with good old American ingenuity voila – they created some master brews, all balanced, but demonstrating what an imaginative and passionate bunch they are. Fuzzy Green, a Cucumber IPA or Milkshake IPA (Extra Vanilla Double) or the Ourison, a lengthy cask conditioned Saison. Everything is produced locally, on site, in small batches, and with the freshest, high quality ingredients. The beertenders are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Parking available in their lot. I picked up several 4 packs to enjoy at home.
The food at this establishment is terrific. They are already known for their beer, but they should be known for both beer and food. If you took the beer out of the picture go because the food is of the highest quality. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant for any meal.
The place has great and unusual beer. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is good bar food (to be expected) but good.
