The main dining room is spacious and on entering, we were asked if we would like the air con. turned on as it was quite a warm day. The fixed menu for our group was exceptional. It started with more than 12 antipasta dishes all very tasty. The Primo was meatballs in tomato sauce. The Secondo was large open pasta pieces with truffles vegetables. The Dolce was 2 tarts. They were both very good. The local wines served was a red Ciliegiolo and the white a Malvasio. Both very good drinking and well matched to the meal. All items served were generous in size and very tasty. Everyone in our group, including some vegans, commented very positively.
We ate here a while ago, in the middle of winter. I have a feeling it may be better in summer time though! Our experience was quite disappointing...we sat in the restaurant area where the heating was not turned on during our meal. We asked to be sat in front of the lovely blazing fire, but were told that those tables had already been reserved. The pasta was all good, but the meat dish was the barest sliver...maybe 2mm deep...and I think about 3 slices per person. When my husband asked for some more the owner looked horrified and gave him one additional tiny sliver. I know they're an agriturismo, so maybe their stocks were low in wintertime, but for the price we paid it was a pretty sad show.
The exterior of the building is pretty cool. The interior rooms are a little dated, but clean. We didn't eat in the restaurant other than breakfast (which is normal Italian style cold meats/cheese or cake/breads and Yoghurt the grounds are ok and the pool is basic, but does the job. The owners did all they could to make us feel comfortable, even with a very large language void. They were all very gracious and made you feel like they really wanted you to enjoy their property. The amount of animals were low during our stay, but that was ok as the little dog that lives there made us so very happy each time we were outside of our room. This property is GREAT as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. Orte is 5min away (do it! so is Penna in Teverina and there are many medieval towns, lakes, rivers and historic sites within a 45min drive in any direction. Would I stay again. Yes. Remember it's a working farm, so some parts are.... Well, farmy. There is a 1km gravel road (in good condition to get to the gate.
The owner of a very kind person has welcomed all our requests, sweet and salty breakfast on request excellent, dinners with menu of various price accessible to all, abundant portions, delicious meat and delicious desserts made by the lady franca . we felt like home, I can not devote a particular attention to the spa used by us for times more
Wonderful place, well managed and well maintained. the room is really cared for in many small details: many arches and exposed stones, the water of the tub coming out of a statue. we opted for a private dinner in the panoramic tower: the owners have prepared a table with hearts, balloons and candles and a helpful waiter, very courteous, but not intrusive.
