Uncle Ed's Creamery - PENNINGTON

The ice cream here is delicious and very reasonably priced! I highly recommend this place. The location is nice, and the atmosphere is delightful.

We found this gem today, and it instantly stood out to us when it claimed to be like Hoppkins Farm Creamery in Lewes-Rehoboth, which we absolutely love. Uncle Ed, your butternut ice cream and cookies and cream in a cup were incredible, and my black raspberry shake was just as amazing! We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be coming back. It's wonderful to have a local ice cream shop right here in Pennington—no need to trek into Princeton anymore. We can’t wait to return soon!

This ice cream shop offers good quality products at reasonable prices. While it may not quite achieve the 4.5-star ratings mentioned in other reviews, it remains a satisfactory option. The value is fair considering the portion sizes versus the prices, but Uncle Ed could definitely benefit from an upgrade to his refrigeration system. The two flavors I sampled from different freezers were surprisingly soft, even though it was a quiet Thursday evening and I was the only customer. The salted caramel flavor was enjoyable, though a bit softer than I prefer. The Uncle Ed Special, which included a vanilla base with peanut butter, pretzels, and what I believe was fudge sauce, felt somewhat uneven in texture. The pretzels were oversized and seemed stale. I've had much better ice cream at an ordinary Baskin Robbins. I expect more from any place that calls itself a creamery. While it is a charming and welcoming spot for families, it may not meet the expectations of true ice cream aficionados. On a positive note, they have a wide variety of flavors, so there’s likely something for everyone to enjoy.
