First time here. Had 2 waters, calamari, side of hush puppies, stuffed flounder, grouper and a root beer to go. Total $85. Hush puppies were delicious especially with the honey butter. The flounder stuffed crab had cheese and bread crumbs and was pretty good! The grouper was a bit fishy even when blackened and lemon flavored but not bad. The Yukon potatoes on the side were really good as well! Shout out Tracie, good waitress! The place was packed and parking was difficult but sitting inside was no issue but if you want a seat outside it's pretty slammed.
Pleasant and friendly employees were thrilled to sit in this amazingly relaxed atmosphere. The menu options are easy to read and choose while the staff answers all the questions we had. Drinks remained plentiful and the food came to the table and got fresh with great presentation quality. I was able to enjoy the view of the neighboring tables of food and beverages arriving, to give me many future decisions to pamper in now that I know what I expect on arrival. The relaxed atmosphere included a view of the nearby bayo and the history of this house. Local are friendly and fun to chat with. There are many gift shops to choose the memory of a well. The Pensacola Pier is located directly above the road of your agent to take the trek and burn the calories you have purchased during your meal visit.
What can I say? This restaurant is an institution and you understand when you go to your table. Numerous interesting maritime pieces hang on the walls and on the ceiling. The menu is large, but not overwhelming. My flounder with frits and tartar sauce came delicate and tasty. They have all kinds of seating, from the inside to the terrace and on the beach. Recommended!
This was our first time visiting Pensacola Beach. I had watched some video’s on places to eat. One of the recommendations was Flounder’s Chowder House. We gave it a try on our first night. WOW!! What a GREAT PLACE!! We loved the atmosphere and our waitress, Sarah Lauren, was Fantastic! She explained about the restaurant, how long she had worked there and how great the company was to work for and how good they were to the employees (we heard the same thing from our waiter two nights later when we went back). Sarah explained the entire menu and gave her recommendations and why. We ordered drinks and appetizers while looking over the menu. They were fresh and fantastic! Our entrees were out of this world! They were fresh, hot and very flavorful. We had the Macaroni and Cheese with shrimp and bacon, recommended by Sarah and the crab legs. When we went back on Saturday night, EVERYONE was watching the Tennessee vs. Alabama football game. I had the Shrimp Alfredo pasta and the Key Lime pie. We HIGHLY recommend Flounders and we will definitely be returning there on our next trip to Pensacola Beach. Honestly, it is worth the drive from NC just to eat there!!
