A friend of mine who is in the Navy and stationed in Pensacola recommended this place to me while I was in town and it was delicious. My first time trying Middle Eastern cuisine and this place set the bar for future meals! They do bring you out pita bread with multiple sauces and I got full on that alone so I had to take the meal I planned on ordering to go but both were delicious. Pita Bread w Five Sauces: Baba Ghanoush, Turkish Tomato Salad, Spicy Green Sauce, Garlic Yogurt, Tzatziki Sauce And the main course Musakhan Rolls: Shredded Chicken, Sumac, Caramelized Onions, Flatbread, Olive Oil.
Reviews made this place sound like a real hidden gem, when in fact, it is a poorly operated makeshift dining room inside a partially set up market. Service was almost non-existent, owner was surly and that’s being polite. Food was served on disposable styrofoam with plastic utensils that weren’t up to the task. To be sure, some of the tastes, especially the assorted spreads and dips were very good. The kebab plate that was supposed to be one beef and one lamb, were both beef. Frankly, i wouldn’t go out of my way to find out for yourself what disappointment looks and tastes like. I gave a second star because the restroom was spotless, the nicest area in the building.
The reviews were certainly misleading. The chicken was dry. The hummus was cold. The free pita bread they offer with the sauces was cold and difficult to chew. The picture below is two serving of fries just so you know! Like really??The food is served in styrofoam containers which makes the experience all the more underwhelming.Came for the reviews. Leaving with an honest one !
Oh man, where do I begin? We were passing by and decided to stop in because we’ve always heard such great things about Taste of Jerusalem. I was a bit hesitant since we were the first customers of the day, but the place filled up quickly! If you’re looking for a quick meal, this is not the spot for you. However, if you want to spend time enjoying good conversation and companionship, then this is the perfect place! They serve freshly baked pita with five different sauces to sample. The food is fresh, and the portions are generous—if you leave hungry, it will be your own fault! We will definitely be back! I tried the #52, which is the plate with rice.
