Staff not too happy or friendly. old stock on the shelf that had expired. just not the best shopping experience here sorry

I travel all around Canada and the States A great value has been the Shanghai meal at Safeway deli. In the US the meal is 11.99 or often 10.99 on sale. In Canada I have paid 15.99 for the same meal. It is typically decent, usual American style Chinese food. I traveled to the Penticton Safeway. The deli staff said they had never heard of this offer an suggested their meal. It was very similar to the Shanghai meal but was 33.95. The full service Chinese smorgasbord down the street is about 15.00 per person. I am very disappointed in the Penticton Safeway.

Price on most things was high compared to other stores and it is not as good of store as it used to before they changed hands.

I have shopped at this store for 9 years and it is one of our favorite grocery stores to shop in, in Penticton. It has the very best deli in the city with fresh hot food available. They offer a vast range of salads, sliced meats [roasted or smoked chicken or turkey breast, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, black forest ham, etc. They also have hot food consisting of chow mein, egg rolls, sweet n'sour, dry ribs, lemon chicken, rice, various chicken wings, chicken leg pieces, mashed potatoes, etc., etc. In the summer on Fridays I particularly stock up on numerous items for entertaining or just our enjoyment. There is also a small room where you can sit and enjoy lunch and also a small counter in the Starbuck's area. They also have a fantastic fresh produce area and fresh flowers with several florists who will make up a fresh arrangement for you while you shop. This store also has a pharmacy on site as well. The store is laid out well with a fresh bakery and all goods are easy to locate, with good flow throughout the store. When there are sales, I tend to buy lots of our meat products here too. A very clean store with excellent staff who have worked there a long time.

Food from the deli is very tasty with a good assortment. Their sushi is surprisingly good and always fresh. Made-to-order sandwiches are usually filled to overflowing and a competitive price.
