Feedback gevenThis breakfast area in the hotel seems to aspire to be a restaurant, but falls short. The manager was attentive, but appeared unsure of how to resolve the problems we encountered.
Great atmosphere, spirits, and dining options for everyone's pallet.
This was the first time we had visited this restaurant. We went on a Sunday morning, and found the service staff to be very friendly and accommodating. There was a choice of a hot buffet or ordering from the menu. I was very disappointed that the server brought us coffee in large heavy paper cups instead of ceramic cups. That and plastic drinking cups are two of the things I loathe about a lot of hotels, but it's usually in the guest rooms, not in the restaurant. We ordered from the menu, and the food was fine. I know it's not the fault of the servers or the management, but there was a screaming infant a couple booths down from ours who wailed almost the entire time we were eating. The couple seemed oblivious to it, finished their breakfast, and finally left the restaurant just shortly before we finished. I know this restaurant serves lunch and dinner also, so we may give it another chance at a different time of day. All in all, not a great experience when hoping for a quiet Sunday experience.
Dined here after shopping at Shoppes at Grand Prairie. Salmon BLT was excellent as was my wife's pasta dish. Generous portions, she had leftovers for lunch following day. Will go back again...
Suite Fire, at the end of the day, was fine. The service was good, but we'd describe everything out as pretty basic. There was little separation from the hotel lobby to the restaurant area--we felt like we were sitting in a glorified continental breakfast area. Some of the tables were the basic folding kind you might find at a convention center. The vast majority of the clientelle were the same you'd see in a Subway--many were in swim trunks from the hotel pool and some were in torn off tank tops and cargo shorts. I say this not to disparage those customers but rather to communicate that while Suite Fire markets itself as a unique upscale casual restaurant, the public views it as your everyday run-of-the-mill hotel bar that happens to serve food. Which is totally ok--just nothing special The food itself was fine but I'm confident we'd prepare the same meals better at home and we're no chefs by any stretch of the imagination. My blackened chicken pasta seemed like something I could get in a boxed mix and my partner described her marinated chicken as rubbery and questionable She mentioned that her baked potato was the best part of her meal and enjoyed it. Our caesar salads were also fairly good, although they seemed like bagged greens with standard dressing with standard croutons Moral of the story: Suite Fire was fine. We didn't have a bad time and our server was good. We were satisfied with our meal but weren't particularly impressed by anything. We'd return if our friends wanted to meet there, but we wouldn't initiate that invitation.
