Everything from Atari to Sega Genesis to Super Nintendo to Gameboy; everything in between and after. After I was allowed to enjoy adult drinks, I grew to enjoy beer a few years later. Shortly afterwards, 8 bits opened. After having a lifelong love for video games and a recently acquired taste for beer, I collected some of my nerdy friends up and drove so. (8) Bit is a quite unique place. It is a bar that is also an arcade. It looks like a normal business at the end of a building, but inside is another story. When you go, you get the feeling you're in a house. You have a stairway up to... somewhere. From the right of the entrance is the small bar. Between the bar tables and the machines, it can be packed with just one handful of people. If you deviate from the bar, you will find yourself in a hallway that has a machine at the end left, which is fucked under the stairs. Next is a room full of 6-8 games (it could vary, I'm not sure). Back to the hall, find the next room on the left. This room is L-shaped and may have 12 games in it. At the end of the hall are the bathrooms. All games are free to play as long as you order drinks and spend money. Instead of loading your bags full of quarters, you just have to upload your belly with beer. I believe fair trade. The Biercade has a nice beer garden to enjoy. During my first visit, my friends and I ordered a few drinks and drove outside to play Pokemon Go. After polishing my beer, I noticed that there was a window where you could order beer from the bar. That's exactly what I did. I ordered another beer through the window. I thought it was pretty cool. While we played Pokemon Go, another group of people came in and played Pokemon Go. We noticed that they played when we fought for the nearby Gym. At one point, this group sent someone to spy us while we fought for the gym. After the other group had taken this too seriously, we decided to close the app, go inside and play the arcade games. The selection of arcade games is about your standard rate. There are your usual games, but they also had a few games I've never seen before. We played a little longer before going out games. Well, that wasn't my only time I came here. Since this visit, I've been back with various other friends a few times. Every visit was unique. When I first went, they offered food. The following visits did not have food options due to legislative changes. The last time I was at the end of 2019 and they had set up this sweet system at the bar. It was operated with some aftermarket SNES controllers and had almost any retro game available. My friend Nate and I spent more time searching the catalog than gaming. It was such a sweet system and I wish I had it at home. Stay nerdy :3
A real jewel. One of the coolest places to hang and a drink in downtown Peoria. Ideal for playing arcade games, but even better if you are a fan of craft beer. Great rotating options available on tap and a killer line up of cans and bottles. Make yourself a favor and check this place when you find yourself in the area.
As usual, the place was busy on a Saturday, but the courtesy bar alert could keep on itself while excellent service. The beverage selection is amazing and if you find nothing to drink, it means that you don't read the menu enough.
Big broth, fun environment and great vintage video games! Have fun classics here! Make sure you have your ID as it is strict 21 and the games are free when you grab a drink!
There was only one girl working the bar tonight, but the service was fast. She was really friendly! I recommend going here. They had a wide selection of arcade games. Even 3 player games! I played a Buck Shooter game, Burger Time, Ultimate Mortal Combat, Pac-Man, and a couple others. If you have time, make the stop!
