Lots of different groups here from families, couples, groups of friends. It's surroundings are immaculately kept and so pretty the staff here from reception, bar and restaurant, supermarket staff and complex taxi drivers are the most polite and helpful I've ever known whilst on holiday. Our room, a very clean well equipped homely space, was in a perfect location for us right in the middle of the complex with easy access to its three lovely pools and other amenities. The village offers a large variety of different dishes between its many restaurants and bars. Very friendly, informative, efficient taxi drivers. Cost us 5 euros to marina and Falesia beach or a 30-40 minute walk (not that we did). We were allowed to book into our room as soon as we arrived at 11am (checkin stated 3:30pm) and today on our last day were able to keep room until 2pm allowing us the morning for breakfast a swim and sunbathe and then freshen up in the room. Everything about this place is just lovely. Perfect stay. Thank you old village xxx
Having stayed in vilamoura a number of times before this was the 1st time the Mrs and I have stayed at the old village. Wow what a lovely place it is. The village sits about 1/2 a mile from the marina and is flanked by the glorious Pinhal golf course. Quiet, clean, pretty and with excellent gardens this place is a gem. Just hope the lager louts don't find the place and ruin it. The appartment was very well equipped with all mod cons. The maid cleans every day. The village itself has a bakery, an atm machine, a small supermarket, a couple of snack bars/cafe bars, 2 lovely swimming pools, a children's pool and 2 high class restaurants Le Rendevous and the Princess Gardens. Both are excellent. Maybe there's a few other places that we never found also. Prices for the old village if you shop around are very reasonable. One negative point I must make is it is very poorly signposted. In fact there isn't 1 sign to let you know where the old village is. This is a big problem especially if arriving in the dark.
I absolutely love this place, everything you need right on your doorstep and it's so beautiful. Everyone is really friendly and helpful and the food was lovely in all of the restaurants and snack bars. The cocktails by the pool were great too!
Beautiful and unspoilt dinner under the magnificent flowering arbor and superb, friendly locals who are just lovely I cannot recommend this highly enough xx
