My husband ordered the bangers and mash, and I went for the salt and pepper squid. The bangers were quite large, and his only complaint was that there wasn’t enough gravy; it was more of a drizzle on top. However, he raved about the caramelized onion relish, saying it was the best he had ever tasted. My squid was light and well-prepared, although I had requested coleslaw but received a garden salad instead. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did show that the staff might have been a bit distracted. Overall, the food was solid and typical of a good pub, and we would definitely consider returning to try other dishes. The only drawback was a group of skateboarders milling about, which was somewhat irritating, though that wasn’t the restaurant’s fault.

I highly recommend this restaurant! The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, and the location had a great vibe. It was the perfect choice for our group booking to celebrate our friend's engagement.

The Shoe Bar and Café spans two levels within the Yagan Square development. On the ground floor, it boasts a lovely view of the promenade between Wellington and Roe Streets, while the upper level overlooks the Market Hall, featuring a variety of food vendors. There’s also an outdoor balcony area at the front with views of the promenade. The café operates with two different menus: the ground floor is more focused on breakfast, quick lunches, and coffee, while the upstairs offers a wider selection of options.

Honest servings of good old fashioned pub feeds. Great location to enjoy a bevvie on your lunch break, after work or before a show. Don’t try to be anything other than what they are. Staff friendly which is a bonus. Menu built to share unless you are really craving a parmi to yourself haha

We decided to go to The Shoe in Yagan square to celebrate one of our girlfriend's birthday. This location is very good right on top of the train line. Which is easy to commute for people who take the train. We ordered a selection of food and wine. The wings, bread and hummus dip, arancini balls, sweet potato fries, deep fried squid. As for mains, we ordered the fish and chips, steak with onion rings and fries and pizza. The food quality is really good. We had a good time chatting the wait staff is very friendly.
