I also found it quite pricey for a relatively standard dish and portion—$18, which includes a mandatory 15% tip and tax. I was taken aback, as that's more expensive than what I've seen in the Bay Area Peninsula.
Absolutely delicious and consistently top-notch! The curry puffs are incredible—so good that they supply them to other restaurants! That's a testament to their quality. The service is always exceptional. I highly recommend this place!
I would give this restaurant 5 stars on DoorDash, but I won't be dining in again. Why? During my last visit, they added a $15 charge to the bill for my husband and me. I only noticed it after closely examining the bill. They wanted us to pay a $15 COVID surcharge plus a 20% tip on top of that! Absolutely not. I was so frustrated that I circled the $15 charge and only left a $5 tip on the total bill. If a restaurant is going to increase their prices, I expect to be informed in advance, not to find unexpected charges on my bill without any warning. Furthermore, every other restaurant I've visited that has a COVID surcharge has only added a couple of dollars, not $15! I recommend ordering their food through DoorDash instead.
Had 2 recent meals that were fine. Now they nickle and dime you for everything. Tried to charge $3.50 extra for a tablespoon of peanut sauce. The recent coconut shrimp appetizer for dinner had 6 shrimp, today it was 3. This was literally a week ago from the dinner meal that had 6. I asked the waiter about the difference in portion size, and he had no explanation. Today they added a 15% ' service fee to the bill total. This was not a suggested tip. The tip would have been additional. Maybe the owners think people don 't look at the bill closely. Sneaky about upcharges, and less food. They reversed the charges when I requested them to do so. After being a loyal customer for many years I am not going back. And, they are not even nice. I guess the take-out business is their focus, not people in the actual restaurant.
We were visiting Petaluma for an appointment, so my Thai mother-in-law invited me to go eat lunch at Lemongrass Thai Cuisine. She was was disgusted by the inauthentic food. The prawns in my Tom Kha soup still had p in them and she could tell the restaurant purchases the prawns pre-cooked. Her dish, Pad See Ew, consisted of pork and noodles in gravy. She said it tasted like salty Fish, and the pork smelled like fish. When the bill arrived, there was a 15% Service Fee added. Quite disappointing Lemongrass. We will not be returning. Ever.
