Mattoni Italian Food - Peterborough

We live in Eye so visit Mattoni pretty regularly, and recently we held a surprise 60th birthday here for 20+ people and they handled it so well from booking to the end. Booked and was advised a £5 per head deposit and they needed a pre-order which we sorted for them and that they got spot on despite a number of changes (and no pre-order for the one being surprised! Service was excellent despite us not being the only large group in the restaurant and it being almost 100% full. Everyone loved their food, the group had steaks, pasta dishes, pizza and other meat dishes and everyone went home happy (and full! Portion sizes are generous . Thank you for sorting a great evening! I also revisited last night (a Friday evening with just my son for a boys evening out away from the females in our house and as always, he loved the calamari we shared before both having excellent pizzas (his came home as he didn't finish it, with his mum and sisters under instructions not to touch it as it is his! Still found room for the Candy Shop dessert of course... Very busy last night too but service very good as always. I love Mattoni, we are very lucky to have such a good, authentic Italian restaurant in the village and we will keep returning again and again! The Sunday roast is special too.... just preorder that one if you specifically want a particular roast as they do sell out!

Amazing food and lovely staff!! My partner and I visited as a pay day treat with our toddler. We’d never been before but had heard very good things from others. Well our expectations were absolutely blown out of the water!! The food was presented beautifully and tasted just as good! Portion sizes were huge so we took our pizzas home ready for dinner the next night. The food was too good to waste! Another huge bonus was the kids meals, a good price for a starter, main, drink and ice cream factory desert. The chicken nuggets looked like proper chicken rather than cheap processed meat. Customer service was spot on! What was lovely to see was members of the team going round talking to regular customers, it really showed the effort and care for their customers! We felt the food was good value for money! Our experience goes to show local restaurants truly are the best! We’ll definitely be visiting again and telling all our family and friends about Mattoni’s!

We held a Charity Pasta Pizza Supper here last week for charity and it was great. The staff are ultra organised and very efficient. The food and service was very good and there was a great atmosphere in the room. We had a singer (Simon Lee) who entertained us during the evening which attributed to the jolly atmosphere. Vic and his team do an amazing job here at Mattoni Eye and I highly recommend this restaurant for a private event as well as dining out there.

Booked for 7:30 not seated til 7:50 First was told setting table then was told a little later waiting for people to leave. Massive wait for food when we asked how long was told you can see we are busy. Manager was rude and was waving his arms in one of our faces when we asked to see him about the rude staff. He also told us we should have pre-ordered but when booked online and then called to add people no mention of pre booking was made. Food was brilliant. Service was extremely lacking. Our server Gabby was amazing and can not fault her she was fantastic. The rest of them need customer service training. Wouldn’t return unfortunately as food was good. But service is important to me as well as good food.

AMAZING!! Our favourite place!! Last nights meal was the best yet. Catch of the day...seabass. Superb!! First class service. Just the best!!
