The Halcyon Hungry Horse - Peterborough

Visited with the kids recently and we all enjoyed our meals.The pub was relatively quiet on a Sunday evening and a number of tables (that remained empty) were marked reserved but we found a place to go easily.My son enjoyed his meal, its a good mix and match menu so kids can just pick what they would want.My daughter had a steak and found it well cooked to her liking!I had a sizzler platter with a double bacon cheeseburger, chicken wings, small steak and chips. All was of good quality for the price and portion generous!We enjoyed it would come again!

Always look for a Hungry Horse when away from home so called in the Halcyon and were greeted by a very friendly lady who took our order for meals from the Golden years menu. We were surprised by the speed they arrived and for the price large portions. The place was very clean and tidy and would recommend to anyone.

The whole day worked and tired and hungry wait 45 minutes for pub life was not up. eating here in the rule for years is in order and my going into the pub, but food order was terrible meat burned, steak was rare, drinks were delayed and. to other international orders. ques were long and the employees themselves said they were two employees short. will not eat here again.

I don't know what is happening with this restaurant. The interiors are dirty, glasses are not clean, there is lipstick on some of them, and there are dead plants and trash everywhere. The fencing is broken, and adults were playing football right next to where people were sitting outside in the sunshine. We had to grab our own drinks because the service was terrible and we waited 10-15 minutes without any help. This used to be our local spot, but it needs a major renovation. It seems like things have gone downhill since the management change. We will be going somewhere else next time.

I dined at this restaurant a few years ago and decided to give it another try recently for a Sunday roast. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my meal. The Yorkshire puddings were burnt and when offered a replacement, I declined. The vegetables were frozen and cold. The overall experience was lackluster and the meal did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend dining here again as the standards have clearly declined.
