East Side Mario's - Peterborough

Arrived at 8:30, and the restaurant was totally empty. Waited to be seated but no one came. Staff was busy watching the hockey game. Went to them to get a table. Broguth garlic bread and salad but no cutlery or plate. Had to get up again to get help. Orddered seafood linguine. The linguine was totally cold. Plate only had two shrimp and two tiny scallops. Sent it back. The replacement was not much better. The linguine was barely warm and the mussels now were totally cold. Plate taken away. Was not charged for the plate but was charged for a glass of ice tea because there was nothing wrong with it. Do you think I will ever go back.

Bad day to go there for lunch. The waitress was very friendly but that',s it. It took approximately half hour before we got our meals and my order of chicken parmesan must have been sitting there because the spaghetti was cold and rubbery and the chicken was like warm. They reduce the price of the chicken parmesan but that does not replace a good meal.

Have been hear a few times without any issues. However this visit was different. In a group of seven including all ages, they seated us quickly and then we waited! Eventually or waiter came and took our order. You would think in the time waiting forks, knives and napkins would arrive without asking! Our food eventually came and to be fair besides some over cooked chicken in the salad it was ok! I did ask for gravy twice and never did get it! I didn’t like my fries or the service!

We visited this location for a Sunday supper. We hadn't been in a while, as we haven't been eating in restaurants too much since the pandemic. Boy, we remembered very quickly why we like to go out to eat! We were greeted and seated immediately, by super friendly staff. As soon as we were seated, a server named Grace came right along to take our drink order. Super sweet young lady, who by the end of the meal, we dubbed, Amazing Grace....seeing as it was Sunday and all..... Well Amazing Grace is an EXCEPTIONAL server, and she made our meal fantastic!! She has the ins and outs of her job nailed, and her patrons reap the rewards. The food was fast, very hot, and DELISH!! I had a special request for the chef, and he/she obliged and made my dish perfectly. Much appreciated! Grace was training another server, and we commented that he was very lucky to have her as his mentor! There is definitely an art and science to being a server. Not an easy job! Would also like to comment that we appreciated that ESM's has NOT reduced their portion sizes OR increased their menu prices! We were super impressed with this. Seems that this location truly appreciates their customers and continually serves up GREAT food, by excellent staff. We all know how challenging these times are, for so many reasons. Thank you ESM for continuing to offer EXCELLENT quality, service and experience. Many people are finding it harder to spend money on eating out. Be assured that if you choose this ESM's, you will not be disappointed. So thank you Amazing Grace and the rest of the staff for a wonderful Sunday dinner! ! Kudos!!

I ordered takeout from this restaurant recently through their website and got one of their family meal deals, which included pasta, salad, and bread. It was a better value for the price compared to dining in. I would definitely order from them again.
