Never having been in the area before, we thought this might just be the local custom, so we went for it. We now know we should have taken the server's comment as a warning. The lobster that was served was, indeed, cold and had the unappetizing scent of something that has been in a freezer way too long. It was served with warm "butter" for dipping, which congealed around the cold lobster as soon as the two items came into contact. The butter was overly doused with what smelled like stale, old garlic powder. Altogether, the meal was awful! When we arrived back at our B&B the owner inquired about whether we enjoyed our Log Cabin dinner. When I explained, " The lobster was served cold," the B&B owner exclaimed in surprise, "Cold?" Then, I knew we'd been had! ( Sucker tourists!). Just skip Log Cabin Restaurant, which is one of the very few local restaurants. Better to take a long drive to find a restaurant with food that is more appetizing.
I had the Lobster Mac'n'cheese and was disappointed that the lobster was just sprinkled on the top instead of mixed into macaroni. The lobster was also not as hot as the macaroni which sort of indicated to me that it was just added on to a mac'n'cheese. My wife had the fish burger and it was "adequate". She did not want the fries so they took $2.00 off the price. Odd that a side of fries is $5.99. The biggest complaint was very weak coffee and then they had the nerve to charge $2.50 for the refill!
Very clean, comfy beds, nice view of the water and it's close to the Hopewell Rocks park, too cold to use the pool though
The view in the back of hotel was beautiful, but that's about all this place had going for it. The ceiling tiles were sagging, the air conditioner didn't work well, and I could hear walking around upstairs and other doors around us opening and closing. Breakfast was mostly toast and muffins (there may have been cereal) definitely not worth the price.
We took the fisherman's platter and the food came out a bit too fast for our liking. It did not taste bad, but definitely made me wonder if it was microwaved. The tartar sauce and shrimp cocktail sauce was delicious though. The fries were regular frozen fries. We also got a chowder which tasted kind of bland. It had plenty of potatoes and shrimp, however it tasted a bit like flour. The service was good. Becca was very friendly and smiling. She brought menus promptly, kept our water glasses full, did not hover and engaged in the regular small talk.Overall, it is definitely a bit pricy for the quality of the food. But if in the area, it is a good place to stop and share a meal or have a small bite to eat.
