Milers - Pettigo

There were four girls working at the counters, so there was enough staff to keep the restaurant running smoothly. We arrived at around 2 pm, unaware that the restaurant closed at 3. As we were enjoying our food, the music suddenly stopped when 3 o'clock hit. We felt rushed to finish our meal as the staff quickly began cleaning up. There was a lack of manners in informing us that they were closing, especially considering the long wait for our food. I ended up taking my daughter's food to go as I felt uncomfortable with the abrupt closure. There was no thank you or goodbye from the staff. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I hope they improve their customer service, as it is a nice place with potential.

We arrived here at 4.40 with 2 adults and 4 children. The guy at the door seated us. We had no idea what time it closed at, we presumed 5.30 or 6 but we weren’t given a timeline when we were seated. The waiter wasn’t very friendly and it was obvious he just wanted to clear up and go home. Why take customers orders if they are closing up 20 mins later? Once our mains arrived it was very obvious they wanted to clear up and get home. We felt so uneasy that once we finished our mains we got the kids to bring their remaining chips in a napkin to bring them home to finish. We got our desserts somewhere else on the way home as we dared not ask for a menu. Why not have a policy in place that last orders for hot food is at 4 or 4.15 so that the customer can enjoy their meal without feeling rushed. We were there for less than 30 mins and spent nearly €100 never again!

The wait to be seated was acceptable as it was a busy Sunday morning. Once seated we waited a long time for our order to be taken. We then waited an awfully long time for the food to be delivered to the table. We then had to wait yet again for our drinks which were brought to the table when the food had been almost all consumed. The food quality wasn’t great and seemed a little too much style over substance. A great pity as the building, decor and atmosphere seemed really appealing.

Come here regularly either for breakfast or lunch and evertime the food is consistent and staff and service is flawless. The pancakes are made fresh with fresh fruit and cream. The burger for lunch is bang on top class.
