Jack's Grill - Philadelphia

My husband is a poker player, and Rivers provided him with a generous food voucher that needed to be used by the end of the week. We decided to check out Jack's on Wednesday night, and we were not disappointed. We started with the pretzel and cheese steak egg rolls, which were fantastic. I had the ribs, and he had the salmon—both were absolutely delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the brownie skillet, which was incredible. There was a lively Motown band playing, and many people were dancing, creating such an energetic atmosphere! The view of the river was lovely as well, even if it is the Delaware. We also ordered filet mignon and vodka pasta with chicken to take home, and both were delightful. Our server—I'm sorry, I can't recall her name, but I think it was Diane?—was wonderful. She was genuinely sweet and incredibly helpful. We can’t wait to come back!

We asked the waitress to split the bill evenly between the couples. My boyfriend paid $45, and the other guy also paid $45. The waitress brought out both receipts, and they clearly showed $45 each for a total of $90. We left without giving it another thought, but a few days later, my boyfriend checked his account and saw a charge of $90. We double-checked the receipt to confirm it said $45, and I called my friend to ask if he was charged the same. He sent me a screenshot confirming he was charged $45. Together, this means they took a total of $135—$45 from my friend and $90 from my boyfriend. This seemed very suspicious. We returned to the restaurant to speak with a manager and explained what had happened. She assured us she would look into it and that it should be resolved within a couple of days, but it wasn't. When my boyfriend called back, another woman said she would investigate and call us back, but she never did. On top of all this, the customer service was terrible; the staff acted like we were the ones at fault. It felt like we had our money stolen from us, and we didn't receive any apologies or resolutions. We're still waiting for a fix, and honestly, I wish we could take our tip back too. I would never come back here again!

I was disappointed to find that none of the dishes I had been looking forward to on the menu were available. However, I did try the shrimp fries, and they were excellent—the shrimp was particularly delicious. They did provide some condiments like ketchup and cocktail sauce, but I would have preferred tartar sauce, which wasn't offered. On a positive note, the service from the waitress was fantastic.

My mom ordered the $13.00 jumbo pretzel . She shared it with her friends and me . They thought the pretzel was a low okay, I didn?t like it at all. We all agreed that it had a funny taste hard to describe and just wasn?t fresh, buttery with a greatpretzel taste.. but I must add the live karaoke band was soooooo much fun!! I had an awesome time!!

We hung out here since we had to kill some time after dropping the kids off at The Fillmore for a concert. Friday night was pretty jumping. Live band and good food. Moderately priced. Nice view of the river. The chocolate chip ice cream skillet wasfantastic.
