Mayura Indian - Philadelphia

I've been here twice. My first experience was disappointing as the food was just average and relatively expensive. However, during my second visit, I really enjoyed the lunch buffet. It was much more affordable and offered a good variety of dishes, making it enjoyable to try out different options.

The driver dropped us off at a house down the street. Our order was incorrect; one of the desserts we paid for was unavailable, and they substituted it with something we don't like.

The order was ready an hour before the scheduled pickup time, so it wasn't as hot as it could have been.

The quality and flavor of the food at the Sunday buffet fell short of our expectations. We were disappointed, especially after traveling all the way from New Jersey.

This restaurant did not meet my expectations for an Indian buffet. There were no soups, pakoras, or samosas available. They offered just two types of white rice and only small bottles of water, along with cold Indian tea that lacked flavor. The naan was dry, and the shrimp curry was so overly salty that it was nearly inedible. The butter chicken contained mostly bones, with very little meat. The other dishes I sampled were either bland or dominated by a single overpowering flavor—like the paneer, which was just overwhelmingly smoky with no other taste to balance it out.
