Mercato - Philadelphia

Sadly, I will not order from Mercato again... mussels on menu were made with leeks and smoked pancetta... these mussel were in a flavorless tomato broth with zero leeks or smoked pancetta, but hunks of sausage instead... I never would have ordered! Then came the flavorless soup of red gravy with hunks of gelatinous fat with a few pieces of pork ragu, and raw, wilted, not seasoned spinach...All went in the trash...the 3 for $38 used to worth it...almost $50 after tip and fees. Terrible waste of money. The best items were the canolli and grilled bread. Super disappointing

There were 3 bites in my meal, I thought they gave me someones left overs. The food was solid though dont get me wrong

The Braised Short Ribs were poorly done. For 32 bucks, I got three small pieces, five potatoes and one leek. There was no pea puree and it was bland... very under season. It is a shame because everything else was pretty okay but this disked ruined the experience. Unfortunately I will not ordering here again as this was really expensive and very poor and inconsistent quality.

Excellent food. Whipped ricotta is not to be missed

This is my 2nd time here. We started with a meatball and muscles appetizer, the seafood lasagna and short ribs. We finished off with the fresh berry cannoli. Everything was delicious! The service was excellent (thanks Brian).
