Altho not a huge place, at that time there was plenty of seating it was very clean in outside. Inside had a large open window to allow in the outdoor light mellow weather. The person taking our order was very pleasant. It only took about 10 minutes to get our food, which we took back to our hotel to eat, about 45 minutes later. Everything was safely packaged (so no spillage in the bag) flavorful. The 2 of us split the food had plenty to eat. Dinner for $25+tip. If we weren 't tired from touristing all day, it would have been nice to sit outside (I think they were small picnic-style wood tables) to people watch while we ate. We were on foot, so I didn 't notice about the parking situation.
I had a wonderful chicken gyro here. My company was an equally wonderful Greek person so I guess you could say this place gets the true Athenian stamp of approval, as far as acceptable gyros go. I had a tasty peach tea also which was touted as Greek but inspection of the label revealed its Egyptian origins. I 'm hopng it 's Egyptian in the way that the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt was Egyptian (descendants of Macedonian Greek Alexander the Great, such as Cleopatra). Anyways, I appreciate the good being served on real plates. The outdoor table we were at had a massive gash in it which made it half unusable.
I got the chicken sandwich and falafel sandwich for lunch for the first time. Honestly, it’s the worst food I’ve had. The fries in the sandwich tasted like it wasn’t cooked. It was cold and very stale. The falafel too was cold and dry. Everything was dry and had no flavor other than the mustard sauce.
Have slept on this place for way to long, I've grabbed a casual lunch and now delivery for dinner. This place is fantastic. The pita is great, the pita chips and garlic eggplant dip are delicious (especially for a garlic lover). The moustaki sampler platter is a genrous portion of sides plus three of the mains, I suggest the chicken souvlaki, loukaniko, and lamp gyro. The loukaniko might be my new favorite sausage with a kiss of orange and fennel. Roast veggies are great. I've also had the dips for lunch. Either way, would definitely recommend.
I had a fabulous time at Moustaki! I ordered the Lamb Gyro entrée with waffle fries, white pita, rice and tzatziki. The lamb was succulent, the waffle fries crispy and tzatziki simply delicious. This was my first time trying Greek cuisine, and I was not disappointed! The staff were also really friendly and helpful, and the dining area was cool and felt very homely (there were a lot of people in the restaurant at the time). 5/5 restaurant in my opinion
