Scotty's - Philadelphia

I even strolled over to the kitchen window to ask about the food and found out that a mother and her daughter run the kitchen—they have a great following and come highly recommended. The highlight of the night was definitely the fantastic jukebox! It has an amazing selection of music that you can really enjoy, and if you pick some good tunes like we did, you quickly find favor with both the bartenders and the other guests. I heard that on Saturdays and Sundays they have a DJ, so I think I'll have to return to experience that. I really enjoyed my time there and can’t wait to come back for a DJ night!

It's a place filled with love and warm hospitality. Definitely a spot worth checking out—it's always a great time when I visit!

Scotty's is what the younger crowd might call an "old head" bar. From the staff to the decor and the average age of its patrons, this place has definitely been around for a while, and that's exactly what I love about it. I was really impressed when I visited on a Friday night and ordered a soul food platter. I chose the fried whiting with collard greens and yams, while my boyfriend opted for the fried chicken wings with mac 'n cheese and green beans. The fish and yams were decent, but the collard greens were completely tasteless, even with meat added for flavor. The wings were just okay, but the green beans and mac 'n cheese were quite good. Unfortunately, the bar service left a lot to be desired; I even got snapped at for asking for a lime wedge for my gin and tonic.

Local bar with a lot of character. No draft. They take credit card. Cheap drinks and generally an older crowd that's here. Will have to come back to try the food, the day that we went there the cook was not here until 6pm.

Horrible and disgusting service. Tried 20 times to order but they kept hanging up every time. Will never go here.
