Bourbon Street - Phoenix

Food was average. Ribs were dry. Mac cheese was good but not great. Pulled pork sandwich was good. Beans not good. Our server was attentive and ran after us when we left car keys on the table. Live music in the bar sounded fine for those who like country music.

I think this could be a fun, great restaurant. However, the night we went, (first time) with guests, nobody seemed too impressed by the food we ordered. The ribs were not as tender as they should be. The tri-tip sandwich was good and tasty, but the meat was very, very tough and not very plentiful. Our server was great and very prompt. We were seated in the restaurant, and music started playing in the bar and you could hear it, but it didn't interfer with our conversations. If they can figure out how to improve their meat quality, this restaurant has potential to be a fun place to bring friends.

We had a reservation on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not very crowded. After waiting for 15 minutes for someone to serve us or even acknowledge that we had been seated, we moved to the bar thinking we would get better service. We sat at the bar another 15 minutes and no one waited on us. There were only 4 other people at the bar, however, there was no one working behind the bar at that time. It was 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday.

My family was looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day. We saw that Bourbon Jacks was open and taking reservations, this was around 7:45 it was close, so we made reservations for 8:30 PM. When we arrived there was a note saying they stopped serving food at 7:45. We proceeded to the hostess stand where the young lady said we could have drinks in the bar but they were serving no food. I said we made a reservation not more than 15 minutes ago and that we even received a confirmation. She told us that they stopped taking reservations and that was not possible. I showed her my confirmation email to no avail. I thought that it was poor customer service that they accepted the reservation then decided not to honor it. This was a great opportunity to get a customer for a lifetime, a great tip for there servers and incredible word of mouth advertising. Instead they get nothing and I doubt that I will ever go there and tell everyone I know about the missed opportunity that they had. Sad. I guess I'm getting my points but I really needed a meal!
